The European Union (EU) Commission President Ursula von Der Leyen said that they have prepared additional measures against the US mutual tariffs.
Von Der Leyen made a statement in Samarkand, where he was located for the EU-Middle Asian Summit after the US announced the mutual tariffs.
Von Der Leyen stated that the tariffs announced by US President Donald Trump for all countries, including the EU, are a major blow to the world economy and stressed that he felt deep sorrow.
Von der leyen, pointing out that mutual tariffs will have tremendous consequences, “Global economy will suffer great damage, uncertainty will increase and protectionism will rise more. The consequences of this will be terrible for millions of people around the world.” he said.

Von Der Leyen pointed out that the effects of tariffs will be felt immediately and will harm consumers around the world. he said.

Pointing out that there is no order in the global trade system, Von Der Leyen said that the United States put the trade partners into chaos and chaos.
Von Der Leyen said that there are serious deficiencies in the global trade system and that some of them joined US President Trump about the unfair benefit.

US President Trump announced that the US will apply mutual tariffs to other countries from tomorrow and that the basic tariff rate would be 10 percent.
In this context, 34 percent to China, 20 percent of the EU, 46 percent to Vietnam, 32 percent to Taiwan, 24 percent to Japan, 26 percent of India is expected to apply mutual tariff.
