According to a statement from the Presidency of Communication, President Erdoğan’s telephone conversation with Putin discussed Türkiye with Russian bilateral relations, regional and global issues.
In the meeting, President Erdoğan underlined that the cooperation of Turkey and Russia in the solution of regional issues is of key importance, that Türkiye closely followed the process initiated to end the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, and that Türkiye is ready for all kinds of support, including hosting peace negotiations to ensure honorable and lasting peace.
Emphasis on cooperation
During the meeting, Erdogan said that the well -intentioned steps to be taken for commercial navigation safety in the Black Sea will contribute to the peace process and that Türkiye continues to do its part in order not to return to a conflict area of the Black Sea.
In the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye attaches importance to cooperation with Russia on Syria, that Turkey and Russia work together in order to achieve permanent peace and stability on the basis of Syria’s territorial integrity, and that the efforts to disrupt the unity of Syria and the sectarian discrimination of Syria and the sanctions against Syria and Russia could work together.
