According to a statement from the Banks Association of Türkiye (TBB), the Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek attended the traditional iftar dinner of TBB.

At the meeting where Şimşek met with TBB management, the developments in the world and the Turkish economy were evaluated.
Minister Şimşek stated that the Medium Term Program (MTP) increased the endurance of the economy in the face of shocks and has made it stronger. He said.
Şimşek stated that the fluctuations considered to be temporary in the markets were followed in coordination with all relevant institutions, as well as measures taken as well as the measures to be taken when necessary, the program will continue with determination.

Emphasizing that the banking sector contributes to the program, Şimşek underlined that the sector is more robust and strong thanks to the improvement in the macro balances.

TBB Chairman of the Board of Directors Alpaslan Çakar stated that the banking sector believes and supports the program, that Türkiye’s balance sheet is always the priority of the sector and that they are working in a very close communication and coordination with economic management.
