Aaron Vivancos, one of the most important names of Flamenco dance, takes the stage in Ankara with his first solo project called “Woman”. The “Woman by Aaron Vivancos” Group of the “Los Vivancos” community of Spain’s international reputation, consisting of only women, is coming to our country within the scope of the 39th International Ankara Music Festival. The demonstration, which is exhibited in a closed box office in Spain and Mexico, meets art lovers at the MEB Shura Hall tomorrow evening.
“Compassion, courage, power, love, hope, joy …”
The Los Vivancos community, which has met with more than 300 cities and over 2,000 performances in more than 60 countries so far, will have an extraordinary flamenco night where music and dance are presented together to music lovers. Legendary dancer Aaron Vivancos, producer, choreographer, composer and artistic director, his first show, “Woman”, offers a reflection of the real situations in which thousands of women have experienced throughout their lives. Aaron Vivancos’s brother and Elias Vivancos, a member of Los Vivancos. He also emphasizes women’s unchanging values such as compassion, courage, power, love, hope and joy. The dancers of the community, which will come to Ankara for the first time; Andrea Mora, Candela Molina, Mariana Garcia, Ana Isabel Martin, Alicia Gavilán, Sandra Garcia, Nuria Rudilla and Aaron Vivancos.
Vivancos, who is preparing to fascinate the audience with this demonstration of women’s power and motherhood in depth, defines that dance is not only a physical action, but as a way of telling a emotion and story.
“The hospitality of Turkish culture impressed me”
Do you remember your first arrival in Türkiye?
When we first came to Istanbul in 2006, the enthusiasm of the Turkish audience impressed me. The intense passion of the audience in Istanbul gave us very much inspired. Since then, we have come to Türkiye frequently and every time the hospitality and diversity of Turkish culture impressed me.
Why are there seven female dancers in your current project after Los Vivancos?
In 2006, I shaped this idea for the first time in my head. I wanted to represent women and important moments in their lives. The Woman project was designed to explore women’s power and emotional journeys. Flamenco and Contemporary Dance were the most powerful means of women’s world.
“The meaning of each movement and music was very important”
What was the biggest challenge you had when preparing to staging Woman?
The biggest challenge in Woman’s production process was to correctly reflect the emotional tone. The meaning of each movement and music was very important. Each dancer and every element should have this depth. This was a time consuming but very satisfying process.
How do you deal with women’s power and motherhood themes?
Themes such as women’s power and motherhood symbolize the important turns of life. In addressing these themes, I aimed to reflect the different moments in women’s lives by bringing together music, rhythm and dance. Every movement is part of this powerful journey.
“Dance is also a form of expression”
You said dance is not just a movement. So, what does dance mean to you?
Dance is not just a physical action, but also a form of expression. The movement of the body has the power to convey emotions and thoughts. Each step tells a story, each figure carries an emotional message. Dance, freedom and the depths of the human soul to descend. For me, dance is an art branch that has become a language in which life is told.

It will be very special to meet the Başkent audience. It is a city of art, this is obvious. For this reason, I can say that it is one of the cities that make me happy in the world for Ankara.
