In a statement made by DSCA, the Philippines were approved for the sale of a total of 20 F-16 fighter aircraft, and the estimated value of the sale was 5.58 billion dollars.
The statement said that the Manila government wanted to buy a double 4 F-16D 4 F-16D used for educational purposes with 16 single and single-engine fighter aircraft.
The sale will “support the security of a strategic partner who continues to be an important force for political stability, peace and economic progress in Southeast Asia, supporting the US foreign policy and national security,” said.
Within the scope of the proposal, the F-16s with advanced avionics, radars and weapons are described as a significant level of promotion for the Filipino Air Force’s current fighter aircraft fleet.
