Alberto Van Keyveren said in his speech here, the 100th anniversary of Chile and Türkiye’s diplomatic relations next year will be celebrated and this would be a turning point.
In spite of the geographical distance between countries, Klaveren said that Chile saw Türkiye as a key connection not only in Eurasia, but also as a key connection between Latin America and this dynamic region.

Keyveren said that the 15th anniversary of the free trade agreement between the two countries is approached and that they are aware of the need to modernize and improve this agreement:
“Both Chile and Turkey have successfully negotiated new and more ambitious trade agreements with various partners, and it is time to make our bilateral trade frame compatible with global trends. Deepening our cooperation, expanding access to the market and facilitating new areas such as services, digital trade and investments. We must create together to modernize our trade agreements and establish a partnership for the future. ”
“Chile, Türkiye’s Free Trade Agreement in Latin America is the only country”
DEİK President Nail Olpak pointed out that Chile is the only country that Türkiye has made a free trade agreement in Latin America and said that the business world should benefit more.
Stating that they believe that Türkiye and Chile will increase bilateral investments, Olpak said, “Both countries provide significant support for the effectiveness of technology startups and cooperation can be developed in this field.” he said.
Olpak noted that Türkiye has a foreign trade volume of exceeding $ 600 billion and has the opportunity to invest in many sectors and said, “I invite the Chile business world to invest in our country and to benefit from our investment opportunities, especially in high -tech sectors.” he said.
