The business areas and diversity of women entrepreneurs are rapidly increasing. One of these names is Zilan Özdemir, who raised blue scorpions at the age of 18. Özdemir, who lives in Ankara, grows 3 thousand blue scorpions in a small room.
Zilan Özdemir, who lives in Ayaş district of Ankara, decided to grow blue scorpions when he was only 16 years old. Özdemir, who received the necessary permissions and certificates from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry within 2 years, brought together 3 thousand blue scorpions in a small room because he was 18 years old.
It was influenced by the studies at the university
Youtube’da while visiting Harran University, said that he was influenced by the work of Özdemir, “I learned that Cuba was done in Cuba. Then I thought we did not do in Türkiye because of the scorpion’s country Mesopotamia. I spoke with my family. They were incredibly supporter,” he said.
Blue Scorpio shines on UV
The black scorpion, which is common in Mesopotamia, is called “blue scorpion” because it shines in blue under the ultraviolet light. Özdemir said that they are currently growing two species and said:
“Their maintenance needs to be at a certain temperature. About 12 to 27 degrees blue scorpion and yellow scorbe. We have two species. We use yellow and blue scorpions. We use fertilizer soil. We offer them a more comfortable living space in the barn.
“I was scared at first, then I got used to it”
Özdemir expressed that he was quite afraid when he started to work.
Emphasizing that the rooms with the scorpions should be in special conditions, Özdemir said, “The ceiling needs to be high. We preferred a place away from the city center. We could not set a 3 -meter height in the city center. Scorpions need to be arranged with tiles in a way that they cannot escape. Scorpions should not be able to leave the room in any way,” he said.
Scorpio in Türkiye
The process of establishing a Scorpio Production Facility in Türkiye is subject to a number of local and national regulations, permits and inspections. After the regulation published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the work to establish these facilities gained momentum.
Facility establishment permits, ‘Scorpio Facility Technical Conditions’ within the framework of real and legal persons applications are taken into consideration by the Ministry.
As a result of the evaluation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry General Directorate of Livestock ‘Project Compliance’ is given. Within this scope, a total of 86 facilities, including Şanlıurfa, Konya, Elazığ, Ankara, Antalya, Gaziantep and Mardin, was given a ‘project of conformity’.
