Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenski met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Odesa, Ukraine. Zelenski and Rutte held a joint press conference after the meeting. Zelenski said that the main issue of the meeting was Patriot, air defense systems and weapons. Zelenski, “We expect the implementation of the air defense agreements with Europe and the United States. We need Patriot systems. We are ready to collect resources and provide the necessary financing to buy these systems,” he said.
Noting that these systems are located in many countries, Zelenski said, “Ukraine will have sufficient protection against Russian ballistic missiles, depending on the decision of world leaders,” he said.
Zelenski argued that Ukraine will provide a stable and predictable support to support Russia to diplomacy. Stating that a significant part of the meeting is focused on the negotiations between the United States and Russia, Zelenski said, “Putin has been ignoring the comprehensive cease -fire proposal for 35 days. Russia’s recent attacks on Kryvyi Rih, Sumy and other cities reveal that Russia is determined to continue the war.”
“There will be a military meeting on the security of the Black Sea and the appropriate steps to be taken”
Zelenski also pointed out the importance of the volunteer coalition, “England, France and other NATO countries are already preparing the infrastructure of creating a security structure. We need to take action quickly and effectively,” he said.
Zelenski also announced that authorities from Ukraine, England, France and Türkiye will discuss the security of the Black Sea in Türkiye today. Zelenski said, “This will be a military meeting on the coalition of volunteers, the security of the Black Sea and the appropriate steps to be taken,” Zelenski said.
“Our support to Ukraine is not shaken”
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte condemned Russia’s attacks on civilian targets and presented their condolences for those who lost their lives in attacks in Sumy and Kryvyi Rih. Rutte, “NATO, Ukraine is next to. You know that this has been from the beginning. In the last few months, NATO’s support has been questioning, it is true. But I want to express this clearly.
